November 21 – Ambassador Rubin spoke at the 14th annual American Chamber of Commerce in Sofia Thanksgiving Charity Dinner. The dinner raises funds for the “Get Ready To Succeed” and “We Can” funds of the BCause Foundation. For the 2017-2018 academic year, the “Get Ready To Succeed” fund awarded 100 scholarships to outstanding students who have lost one or both parents. All scholarship fellows have a GPA of 5 or higher. In the past 11 years, the “Get Ready To Succeed” fund has awarded 1,140 scholarships totaling over $1,700,000 Bulgarian leva. American Chamber of Commerce members not only donate money to the scholarship fund, they also offer these outstanding students internships and career opportunities.
