Ambassador Eric Rubin joined famous Bulgarian TV stars, musicians, and athletes at the opening of the 15th annual McHappy Day charity initiative that took place at McDonald’s Restaurant at Slaveykov Sq. on November 23rd. This initiative helps children with oncology diseases in Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna hospitals. The funds that have been raised so far have been spent on medical supplies and equipment, construction of a Children Center in Sofia, and repair and rehabilitation of the hospital wards. The McHappy Day, which is celebrated in 63 countries around the world on the eve of Thanksgiving, is an excellent example how the U.S. companies give back to the communities in which they operate.
