Ambassador Mustafa visited the Sofia Synagogue, the largest in Southeastern Europe. She was welcomed by President of Shalom Dr. Alexander Oscar and President of the Central Israelite Spiritual council Sofia Cohen, who explained the history of Jews in Bulgaria and the activities of the Jewish community in Sofia. In a discussion joined by other minority rights advocates, Ambassador Mustafa solicited ideas on how the U.S. Embassy can help promote diversity and acceptance in Bulgarian society.
