Ambassador Rubin Honors Macedonian Jews Who Perished in Holocaust

Today, Ambassador Eric Rubin joined U.S. Special Envoy for Holocaust Issues Tom Yazdgerdi, U.S. Ambassador to Macedonia Jess Baily, Paul Shapiro and Radu Ioanid of the U.S. Holocaust Museum, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister Krasimir Karakachanov and members of the Bulgarian and Macedonian Jewish communities for the March of the Living in Skopje, Macedonia, which paid tribute to the Macedonian Jews who perished during World War II. The commemoration procession, which ended at the Monument of 7,144 Macedonian Jews with a wreath-laying ceremony, marked the 75th anniversary of the deportation of 7,144 Macedonian Jews to the Treblinka concentration camp in Nazi-occupied Poland.
