U.S. Ambassador Eric Rubin took part in the opening of a new dining facility for the children at Hristo Botev Primary School in the village of Lopyan, Etropole Municipality. The new kitchen and dining room was built with the help of the U.S. Embassy in Sofia Office of Defense Cooperation, which invested over 300,000 leva for the project. 161 students who study and live at the school will benefit from the new building.
For the past five years, the U.S. government has invested more than 7 million leva in this and similar Humanitarian Assistance projects in Bulgaria. The next one is a Day Center for Adults with Disabilities in Burgas, which will be ready in September.
