U.S. Embassy Sofia Chargé d’Affaires Justin Friedman joined Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and other government leaders Monday morning at a breakfast to celebrate the strong business ties between the United States and Bulgaria. The breakfast was hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce and is an annual event that highlights the many American companies that have invested billions of dollars in Bulgaria. These companies have created more than 30,000 high-paying jobs for Bulgarians.
“We know that Bulgaria and the United States grow stronger together through business-to-business connections,” Chargé d’Affaires Friedman said in his remarks. “I’m proud that U.S. companies set the standard for corporate social responsibility and giving back to their communities. U.S. companies in Bulgaria have invested millions of dollars in community centers, in environmental conservation, in education, and in healthcare. With our vision and leadership, we can do more to include and prepare the rising generation of workers for tomorrow’s jobs and build stronger communities and families here in Bulgaria.”
