Renowned American cartoonist Daryl Cagle was on a visit to Bulgaria October 5-10. Cagle opened an exhibit at the House for Humor and Satire in Gabrovo and delivered lectures at Sofia University, New Bulgarian University, and the Red House in Sofia. Daryl Cagle talked about the importance of the editorial political cartoons for the freedom of speech around the world and said that the cartoonists are like “the canary in a coalmine” since they are the first who provide warning of upcoming danger.
