United States DEA officers teamed up with Varna municipality representatives on July 26 to talk with 100 Bulgarian high schоolers about the dangers of drug trafficking. All 100 students volunteered to travel from municipalities throughout Bulgaria to participate in this training. They will return home to be peer educators teaching about the dangers of drug use and drug trafficking as part of the Blue Heart Campaign for a “Summer Without Risk.”
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is a United States federal law enforcement agency that combats drug smuggling and use within the United States. The U.S. works closely with international partners – like colleagues from GDBOP and the Bulgarian Customs Service– to seize drugs, drug money, and arrest drug traffickers.
