Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Bulgarian Chief of Defense GEN Andrey Botsev today attended the closing ceremony for Platinum Lion 2018, a multinational security exercise held at Novo Selo Training Area in Bulgaria. Soldiers from eight countries – including NATO members Bulgaria, the United States, Albania, Montenegro and Romania – as well as members of the Partnership for Peace program, Georgia, Moldova, and Serbia, took part in the training held from July 30 to August 10. Prime Minister Borissov congratulated the soldiers for the successful training, which was led by the Bulgarian Land Forces, and praised the excellent training facility at Novo Selo. U.S. Embassy Defense Attaché Col Shannon Johnson also addressed the soldiers. Following the ceremony, Prime Minister Borissov reviewed a static display of equipment, including several U.S. Army military vehicles.
