Chargé d’Affaires Martina Strong hosted a promotion of U.S. wines from the states of California and Washington. The event, which is eagerly anticipated each year by connoisseurs and experts, was organized by the Foreign Agricultural Service at the U.S. Embassy. More than 10 world famous wineries with a reputation for high quality, including Joseph Phelps, Merryvale, Stag’s Leap, Chateau Ste. Michelle, Nortstar, Robert Mondavi, Ravenswood, Geyser Peak, and Jack Rabbit, were presented to the guests.
More than 100 connoisseurs of fine wine attended, including businessmen, food service sector representatives, wine experts, specialized and mainstream media, show business celebrities, and Embassy officials. Chargé d’Affaires Strong welcomed the guests and shared interesting facts and views about American wines, culinary tastes and preferences. The promotion proved once again that American wines, with their remarkable qualities, deserve their leading positions in the highly competitive Bulgarian wine market and are a desirable product for everyone, from first-class restaurants to discriminating consumers.
