The U.S. Embassy hosted an International Military Education and Training event, at which Ambassador Rubin greeted Bulgarian military and Ministry of Defense civilians.
Since 1992, the U.S. Government has contributed over $217 million for military training and equipment in Bulgaria. The pinnacle is our investment in the men and women of the Bulgarian Armed Forces, enabling close to 3,000 military officers, Ministry of Defense civilians and Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) to attend individual training at U.S. military schools in the United States and Germany. Last year, the United States trained 129 Bulgarian service members and MOD civilians.
They are critical to our alliance and bring the ability to understand us, the way we think, and what we mean when we call you on your radio when deployed or anytime we stand shoulder-to-shoulder to defend NATO’s interests. You represent the finest Bulgaria has to offer and its hope for the future. The U.S. Embassy is hosting an International Military Education and Training event tonight, at which Ambassador Rubin will greet Bulgarian military and Ministry of Defense civilians. Congratulations to the alumni of IMET training!
