Summary: The U.S. Mission in Sofia, Bulgaria is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Local Guard Force (LGF) Access Control Guard in the Regional Security Office (RSO)/ Local Guard Force.
The work schedule for this position is full time – 40 hours per week (in shifts).
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a one month of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.
Supervisory Position: No
Duties:
The incumbent performs guard services to safeguard buildings, property, and persons at the US Mission Sofia. The incumbent is responsible for personnel and vehicle access control, patrolling, and contingency response.
Qualifications and Evaluations
EDUCATION:
High school diploma is required.
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE:
Full-performance level: Must have one year of guard, military or police work experience.
Trainee level: Not required
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
- Familiar with the operations and procedures of a commercial or government security operation.
Evaluations:
LANGUAGE:
Level 3 (good working knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing English is required. Testing of English language will be performed.
Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing Bulgarian is required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent physical condition: Must pass the post Physical Fitness test and maintain fitness standards according to the RSO/LGF Physical Fitness Policy.
- Ability to deal with public.
- Capacity to perform in all areas of responsibility.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions and produce written reports.
- Ability to conduct in a polite, professional and courteous manner at all times.
- Good working knowledge of computers and MS software applications.
- A valid Bulgarian driver’s license category B.
- Ability to work on shifts.
- Good health relevant to driving duties and ability to obtain and maintain medical clearance.
- Medical re-certification per Department of State medical standards every four years or more frequent if needed. Reporting for medical re-certification to the Embassy Health Unit before the expiration of the current medical clearance.
Qualifications:
