Summary of Duties: The U.S. Embassy in Sofia is seeking an individual to serve as an Administrative Clerk in the Protocol Office on as needed basis. The incumbent will assist with routine office administrative tasks such as but not limited to: make phone calls, draft correspondence, file documents, research information, coordinate meetings and events, translate documents, interpret at meetings from English to Bulgarian and vice versa.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EVALUATIONS:

Education:   Completion of high school is required.

Experience:  Administrative or translator experience.

Language:  Level 4 (fluent) speaking/reading/writing English and Bulgarian.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Good computer skills in MS Office and various Internet applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, social sensitivity, sound judgment, self-confident, and capability of working smoothly and tactfully with all levels of contacts in a sensitive environment.
  • Ability to plan, manage time, and successfully meet deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Ability to interpret at meetings and public events.
