U.S. Army Europe Commander LT GEN Ben Hodges and Deputy Chief of Mission Martina Strong visited yesterday the U.S. soldiers at Novo Selo Training Area.
Joint training with Bulgarian soldiers and other militaries continues to improve interoperability between the NATO allies.
During his May 18 visit to Bulgaria, LTG Ben Hodges met with Ambassador Rubin to discuss the strong security partnership between the United States and Bulgaria. Following his meetings in Sofia, LTG Hodges, DCM Martina Strong and BG Iavor Mateev met with members of the 194th Engineer Brigade from the Tennessee National Guard, the Navy Seabees and Bulgarian Commanders and Range Control at Novo Selo Training Area near Sliven. The units will spend the summer improving the facilities and roads in the training area. Project engineers took a moment to show the visiting group the improvements underway.
