March Music Days International Festival

March Music Days International Festival is one of the oldest and most reputed festival stages in Bulgaria, a festival of modern program strategy and high public rating. Founded in 1961 and organized by Ruse Municipality, every year the festival turns the city of Ruse – the biggest and most beautiful Bulgarian city along the Danube, into a real capital of music, a meeting point of top-class musicians from Europe and worldwide.

World renowned artists and ensembles have performed on the festival stage including D. Shostakovich, S. Richter, K. Masur, G. Rozhdestvensky, V. Neuman, Y. Temirkanov, I. Oistrakh, V. Repin, R. Today the festival builds a wide platform that fosters young talented musicians from around the world, engaging artists with different artistic and cultural background in a lively and exciting dialogue.

The Festival has become a bearer of the prestigious international “European Festival” label, awarded by the Europen Commission and the European Festivals Association under the pilot project “Europe for Festivals. Festivals for Europe” for 2017 and 2018.

The world renowned violinist Svetlin Roussev has been involved as festival’s artistic consultant since 2017.
