U.S. Embassy Sofia informs U.S. citizens that on Saturday, June 18, 2016 the Pride Parade will take place from 17:00-21:00. The participants will gather at the Monument to the Soviet Army and march along the following route:
Soviet Army Monument (backside) – Vasil Levski Blvd. – Sofia University – Vasil Levski Monument – Dondukov Blvd. – Council of Ministers – Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd. – Military Club – Parliament – Vasil Levski Blvd. – Soviet Army Monument (backside).
Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence. Avoid areas where demonstrations are taking place and exercise caution when in the vicinity of any large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations.
