The U.S. Embassy is happy to support at this year’s edition of the Radar Festival Beyond Music in Varna a music theater performance, Notes on Hopper, which tells a story about the life and works of renouned American painter Edward Hopper as seen through the eyes of his wife and fellow artist Josephine Nivison. In it she recalls her husband and their relationship through songs of love, loss and longing, using music improvisations, text and video to create а profound and intimate journey. Loneliness and isolation are typical themes in Hopper’s works, which the performance evokes with great finesse. It took place at the concert hall of the Varna City Art Gallery, which added to the flavor of the art-related theme of the concert.
