COVID related access requirements valid from January 18, 2022

Any individual seeking services from the Embassy should be prepared to present a valid digital or paper COVID-19 certificate showing that the person has been vaccinated against COVID-19, or has received a negative COVID test result within 48 hours, or has recovered from COVID-19. Minors under the age of 18 are exempt from this requirement.

Recovery from COVID-19 can be proven by one of the following documents:

  • “Valid EU digital COVID certificate of recovery” is a document certifying by a PCR test that a person has suffered from COVID-19 which is valid in the EU for the period from the 11th to the 180th day from the date of the test entered in the document. The same is valid for 1 year in Bulgaria.
  • “Valid COVID certificate of recovery” is a document certifying by an antigen test that a person has suffered from COVID-19 which is valid only in Bulgaria for 1 year.
  •  “Valid COVID certificate for antibodies” is a document certifying by a test that a person has antibodies for COVID-19 which is valid only in Bulgaria for 3 months.
