The wallet-sized U.S. Passport Card can be used to enter the United States from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Bermuda at land border crossings or sea ports-of-entry. It is less expensive than a passport book.  The passport card cannot be used for international travel by air.

The U.S. Passport card is proof of U.S. citizenship and identity.

The fees and validity for passport cards are as follows:
Adult: $30, 10 years validity
Minor: $15, 5 years validity

To apply for a Passport card, check the box labeled “Both” (Passport Book and Passport Card) at the top of your Passport book application.
