On November 18, 2019 the White House led a delegation to Bulgaria to discuss Intellectual Property protection.

White House Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator Vishal Amin led the delegation, which included additional representatives from the White House, Department of State, and Department of Homeland Security.

In Sofia the delegation met with counterparts from the Ministry of Culture, Prosecutor General’s Office, the General Directorate for Combatting Organized Crime, the American Chamber of Commerce, and local industry.

White House Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator Vishal Amin discussed ways to strengthen Bulgarian law enforcement capabilities for fighting organized crime and corruption. Amin stressed that steps taken to advance Bulgaria’s protection of intellectual property would strengthen overall rule of law in Bulgaria, as well as enhance Bulgaria’s investment climate.

“Investment in a country is more appealing when investors can count on enforcement of rule of law, and when they trust that their intellectual property will be protected,” said White House Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator Vishal Amin.
