Weather Alert: Avalanche Risk Mt. Vitosha

Message to U.S. Citizens:

Please be advised that the Mountain Rescue Service has issued a warning about the increased chance of avalanche on Mt. Vitosha.

The announcement follows recent heavy snowfall and strong winds which has caused snow to accumulate into the negative forms of the mountain, creating dangerous conditions.

All U.S. citizens are advised to monitor mountain conditions and heed local warnings before hiking or skiing on Mt. Vitosha.
